Ülker is the chairman of Turkey's largest food company, Yıldız Holding, which owns the Godiva chocolate company.

Murat Ülker was named the richest person in Turkey by Forbes magazine, with a net worth of $2.9 billion, according to a list released on Monday by the publication.

Ülker had also topped the list last year, with his fortune said to be $4.4 billion.

In second place for 2015 was Hüsnü Özyeğin and third was Ferit Şahenk, with personal wealth estimated at $2.6 billion and $2.5 billion, respectively.

Ülker is the chairman of Turkey’s largest food company, Yıldız Holding, which owns the Godiva chocolate company.

Özyeğin is the chair of Fiba Holding and Şahenk the head of Doğuş Holding.
